Sustainable Strategies DC (S2) has launched a project to track and shape the federal government transition to a Biden/Harris Administration and 117th Congress in support of community revitalization, resilience, and recovery. This S2 “Transition Advocacy Project” will:
Track key issues in the 2021 federal government transition which are important to localities;
Provide updates, alerts, & resources to help our local government clients navigate emerging transition priorities and initiatives from the Biden/Harris Administration and 117th Congress; and
Engage with local government leaders from across the nation and create recommendations for federal leaders on community priorities in the following four key issue areas. The S2 team has worked with its clients and local government allies to create specific recommendations on federal policies, resources, and Executive and congressional actions on:
S2 invites mayors, county commissioners, city councilmembers, city manager, and other local officials from communities around the country participate as “Founding Local Leaders.” Founding Local Leaders will:
Participate on video conferences (and DC fly-ins when safe to conduct again) with Biden Administration, federal agency, and Congressional leaders for the coalition to bring the TAP issues to the forefront.
Receive the tools you need to raise up these key TAP issues, including sample emails and letters to your Members of Congress, talking points for communicating with federal officials, media/social media kits, and other instructions for action.
Engage in periodic organizing calls among TAP Coalition leaders and support staff to report on progress, take advantage of emerging opportunities, and plan key actions for the effort.
